Best of the Cape

The tour departs from the scenic city bowl situated at the foot of Table Mountain, along the curved coastal road set against the Twelve Apostles. The route takes you to Chapmans Peak, through Noordhoek and Kommetjie (our surfing paradise) and into the Cape of Good Hope. Situated in 17 750 hectares of nature reserve and home to a variety of wildlife, this expanse of land has captured the imagination of European sailors from the moment they first laid eyes upon it. From the still functional lighthouse at the southwestern most point of the African continent, guests overlook the mythical place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

The tour continues to Boulders Beach where guests are afforded the unique opportunity to view a colony of African Penguins. Enjoy a lunch stop at one of the many coastal eateries in Simonstown – named after the Dutch governor Simon van der Stel – home to the South African Navy. A short drive through this coastal town leads us along either the coastal roads of Fish Hoek or alternatively the mountain pass via Silvermine Nature Reserve ; both offering panoramic views across the endless beaches of the False Bay, the Indian Ocean, and the greater peninsula before cutting inland en-route to the Constantia Winelands.

We visit Groot Constantia, one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa and a national monument and heritage site. Experience what this vibrant farm has to offer with a chocolate and wine pairing, a guided tour of the production cellar, and a self-guided tour of the museum.
